Olive oil, in addition to being very valuable as an agricultural and commercial product, is a key part of the Greek and Mediterranean diet, while having an important international presence through its unique characteristics. Its indisputable quality and its particularly beneficial ingredients are a point of reference, but, at the same time, they are also elements of a constant challenge during the production process.
In this context, ORFEAS Olive Oil Mill embraces the importance of the olive oil both as a product and as an essence, and ensures its quality, through the most modern and certified extraction methods. With confidence in modern technology to ensure purity, but also in our years of experience, knowledge and love for this unique product, we have constituted ORFEAS as the first choice for the olive growers in our region, and mainly in northern Greece, providing them with the most complete experience of cooperation for the ideal extraction of their final product. However, our collaborations are not limited only to the field of olive oil extraction, as, at the same time, and through our own production, we offer virgin and extra virgin olive oil for wholesale purchases.

Olive Oil Extraction Stages

FRUIT TRANSPORTATION AND PREPARATION

For ensuring the quality of the olive oil, the speed of transport and the proper handling of the olive fruit are of particular importance. That is why ORFEAS Olive Mill provides the option of transporting the fruit from its collection point to our facilities, with the speed and safety provided by the experienced and specialised staff, as well as by the privately owned fleet of its specialised vehicles.

PRESSING AND MALAXATION

After sorting, cleaning and preparing the olive fruit for processing, it is then pressed and malaxated. Our specialised, state-of-the-art equipment ensures that this process will take place in ideal low temperature conditions, where the olive pulp preserves its valuable ingredients, so that we can quickly proceed with next stage of centrifugal separation.

CENTRIFUGATION

After malaxation, the pressed olive pulp is transferred to the decanter, where the innovative centrifugal separation of the oil takes place. With its special extraction process, the olive oil is completely free of solid particles, while it remains clean and intact, without any need for admixture with water, but also without the damage that could be caused by longer exposure or processing time.

BOTTLING AND STANDARDISATION

The choice of immediate bottling, packaging and standardization enables us to immediately complete the production process and deliver the final product to each type of packaging that will be selected by the customer, always according to the strictest quality and safety standards. Finally, the residues of the extraction process are delivered for an additional eco-friendly treatment, according to the most efficient ecological management standards.
The package in the picture is intended exclusively for olive oil transport and storage.

STORAGE

However, there is always the option of storing the extracted olive oil in the facilities of the ORFEAS Olive Oil Mill, and more specifically in the 6 special purpose stainless steel tanks, with certified specifications for the preservation and protection of the oil’s quality, with a capacity of 5 - 15 tons each.
